On Friday, November 28th, the James River Rapid football team geared up for their hard-earned game against the Ocean Lakes High School football team at the Floyd E. Kellam High School in Virginia Beach.

James River fought hard and played their absolute best; however, the game ended with a Rapid defeat. The final score was 49-7. Although we lost, the James River students who came to watch the game had a good time and encouraged the players.

“I think everybody was disappointed with the way things turned out,” but overall the team was “pretty positive,” said Varsity Football Coach Gregory DeFrancesco.

The disappointing end of the game brought “a bittersweet kind of reaction,” but the team had “accomplished a lot” said DeFrancesco. James River is lucky to have a football team that faithfully plays from beginning to end, encouraging one another and trying their best day in and day out.
